Books Not Bars (Institutional Use: K-12)

Defiance needed to stop massive incarceration.
This short film is a great sociological work of art demonstrating the awareness of a phenomenon that has quintupled over the past 30 years. In California alone, the state has build over 30 prisons in the past 30 years, and only 2 universities. Our prison system warehouses over 2 million prisoners. Such total institutions don't reform and don't rehabilitate prisoners. We need to stop divesting from prisons and start investing more on educational institutions, lower tuition rates, and stop privatization of school loans. The sad reality is that our prisons don't house the most dangerous criminals, (the corporate thugs) are still robbing and killing. Our prisons incarcerate and punish the poor.
