The Art of Filmmaking

Film Lovers Unite: A Big Collection Of Entertainment Related Documentaries
Being an avid film enthusiast, I was very excited by the prospect of "The Art of Filmmaking" which is really just a compilation of five previously released DVDs. As I had not actually seen any of the films, this was an ideal way to feed my insatiable interest in both the commercial and artistic aspects of the industry and the craft. I'm not sure thematically that all of the films necessarily coalesce into one cohesive collection, but that doesn't make the set any less noteworthy. For real insight into the filmmaking process, the movies present the viewpoints of the screenwriters (Tales From The Script), the directors (Life Behind the Camera), and documentarians (Capturing Reality). I was most dubious about the inclusion of "Lavender Limelight" as it seemed the most specifically targeted piece about lesbian filmmakers, but it fits comfortably into the niche of providing information about the indie movie scene. The film I looked forward to the most was "Light Keeps Me Company"...
